The Minotaur: Monsterhearts 2

Introducing the Minotaur:

You are the cause of every problem that everyone has ever had, or so they all seem to think. This has been the burden or your lineage since it began, and some before you have responded to this ill will with anger and violence. Many have been killed for this, and have learned much from beyond death - knowledge they have passed to you. This is a heavy weight to carry, but you are strong enough.

It is that strength that allows you to protect others. Perhaps you protect with words, perhaps with violence, and perhaps, if you protect enough, one day someone will protect you.

The Minotaur is a Skin for Monsterhearts 2, written in 2018 for the Behind the Masc zine, which is available for purchase here. This is a release of the Minotaur as a standalone work with added art and updated layout to match other Monsterhearts 2 Skins.

While I no longer include masc as part of my gender identity, my understanding of and experience with masculinity continue to impact me, and this work is a big part of that. The game includes a designer's statement written when I originally designed the Minotaur and updated in 2021.
